Here's how we are working with the Government of Canada to have an impact on access and inclusion across the country:
- Our Executive Director, Bill Adair, sits on the Advisory Group to the federal Minister of Diversity, Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities, the Honourable Kamal Khera.
- Our Executive Director, Bill Adair, is a member of the Board of Directors of Accessibility Standards Canada.

We have developed a cross-disability-specific COVID-19 microsite.
- We are a member of the Parliamentary Precinct Accessibility Advisory Committee.
- We are a member of the Canadian Transportation Agency's Accessibility Advisory Committee.
- We are a member of the Canadian Human Rights Commission's Accessibility Advisory Board.
- We have led the development of accessible communications standards for the federal public service.
- We have developed, in partnership with People First Canada, a plain language version of the Accessible Canada Act for Accessibility Standards Canada.
- We are working with our own advisory committee to provide guidance on a public service program in development.
Here's how we are working with the disability community to impact access and inclusion:

We have developed, and continue to lead, the Include-Me.Ca social movement.
- We, along with other SCI Canada federation members, have a student scholarship program and each year distribute three scholarships.
- We have partnered with other organizations to develop a webinar series focused on building the disability social movement to ultimately work towards a universal income for people with disabilities.
- We are partners in a two-year project that will bring federally regulated entities, bound by the Accessible Canada Act, together with disability organizations across Canada to ensure accessible and inclusive business practices.
- We are a member of Canada’s United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Committee, which reports on Canada's compliance issues to the United Nations.
- We have developed two Covid-19 information microsites at: SCI and Covid-19 and Covid-19 Resources
- We are partnering on the Next-Generation 911 project, which is an initiative aimed at updating the 9-1-1 service infrastructure in the United States and Canada to improve public emergency communications services in a growing wireless mobile society.
- We are partnering in a research project that will look at best practices, consumer expectations, and accessibility standards for mobile device procurement.
