Business Development Officer
Wage: $25
Time Period: 12 weeks
Hours per Week: 35
Job Summary
The Business Development Officer will oversee and participate in the development of a business plan and sustainability plan for the Include-Me website. The successful candidate will:
- direct a small collaborative team
- work with community leaders
- write a business plan with an emphasis on sustainability
- pitch plan to potential users and sponsors
The Business Development Officer will work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to enhance national awareness of the Include-Me brand and recognition of the value of the website and services.
This position is national in scope.
Primary Relationships
- The Officer reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and serves as a member of the staff team.
- The Officer participates with the Executive Director and other senior staff in representing Spinal Cord Injury Canada, assuring its accountability to all constituencies, and ensuring its effective operation.
- Within Spinal Cord Injury Canada, the Officer has primary working relationships with the Director, Marketing and Communications and the Executive Director.
- Outside of Spinal Cord Injury Canada, the Officer may work with service providers, other disability-related organizations and potential sponsors.
Principle Accountabilities
- Responsible for developing a business plan that will provide sustainability to the Include-Me website.
- Demonstrate leadership by building a team of four (including you) to work on this project.
- Analyze, assess and determine:

- How to create ongoing financial support for the Include-Me website, SCI Canada and people with disabilities
- Why Include-me should be supported
- Who to ask for financial support
- When to pitch to the potential supporters

- Determine where to make the financial requests
- Determine financial predictions for the enterprise
- Developing a pitch deck
- Presenting pitch deck to investors/sponsors/foundations
Marketing Project Officer (2 positions)
Wage: $20
Time Period: 12 weeks

Image Creation Officer
Wage: $16
Time Period: 8 weeks
Hours per Week: 35
Job Summary
Create an image library of graphics/cartoons/photographs\videos/GIFS. These images will provide a dignified and positive representation of people living with a spinal cord injury and other disabilities. The images will be used on our website, in blogs, in social media and as imagery to tell a story. They may also be used by our Federation members. Spinal Cord Injury Canada will own the right to all images.
This position is national in scope.

- Demonstrate leadership by participating on a staff team.
- Become thoroughly familiar with all the organization’s communications tools. Among them are:
- Website content
- Blog posts
- Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts
- Identify how animation, graphic design, illustrations and other artistic representations can enhance the effectiveness of the organization’s communications tools.

Tasks
- Review the use of images on SCI Canada’s website.
- Develop and propose ideas for using animation and other imagery on SCI Canada’s website and social media feeds.
- Create, adapt or revise images as required.
- Create a library/database of useful images, so that each image is identified by:
- Type (photograph, drawing, animation, illustration)
- Topic (active living, travel, parenting, etc.)
- Content (nature of disability)
- Usage (in which materials it has been used; e.g., blog, website, brochure, etc.)
- Copyright or privacy restrictions, if any.
