A Review of Disability Policy in Canada, 3rd Edition, is published by the Canadian Disability Policy Alliance (CDPA). The Alliance is a national collaboration of disability researchers, community disability organizations, and federal and provincial policy-makers, aimed at creating and mobilizing knowledge to enhance disability policy in Canada, and to promote equity and opportunity for disabled Canadians. Developed in 2013, The Disability Reference Guide is a tool for identifying, clarifying and promoting policies to address issues that affect people with disabilities. While the objective of the Guide is to help ensure that federal programs, policies and services maintain or enhance the social and economic inclusion of people with disabilities, much of the Guide’s content may be of use to other governments, organizations or institutions. The Access4All Canada 150 Signature Initiative, in partnership with the Government of Canada, aims to break down barriers in the built environment - in all the places where we live, work, and play. The Rick Hansen Foundation is offering grants of up to $30,000 to approximately 50 schools and community groups across Canada for infrastructure improvement projects. We’re calling them “Barrier Buster” projects. By breaking down barriers in communities from coast to coast, we can all create real and lasting impact for Canadians with disabilities.
